Gorgeous Vintage S. Kirk & Sons Hand-Chased Sterling Silver Repousse Berry Bon Bon Bowl, Made in USA, 148 grams

This is a gorgeous hand-chased sterling silver repousse bonbon bowl created by Samuel Kirk & Sons, known for their beautiful, highly detailed repousse work in the late 19th and early 20th century. Repousse is an ancient method of silver smithing revived by Samuel Kirk (and sons) and introduced in the US in 1828. It's a beautiful emobossed design of fruit and flowers done in 925 sterling silver and the result is quite stunning. This holloware silver bowl sits on 3 tiny bun feet and would look beautiful displayed in a cabinet, on a stack of books, in shelf styling or as a catchall on an entry or beside table. Based on the mark "S. Kirk & Sons Sterling 431" to the outside edge this piece dates to about 1932. This piece is in excellent vintage condition with only a few minor dark spots to the silver.
