Antique Brown Transferware Platter - Excellent! 16.5” x 13”
Antique Brown Transferware Platter - Excellent! 16.5” x 13”
This is a wonderful antique mid 19th century brown transferware platter. The pattern is called “Wreath” by William Adams of Tunstall, England. The pattern features grapes, vines, & leaves surrounded by a thick grapevine border. A wonderful piece to add to your collection of brown transferware! Dimensions: 16.5” x 13 1/8”
The back is marked with a number 4. The maker’s stamp is not visible but this piece is consistent with the “Wreath” pattern by W. Adams. It’s possible the stamp has worn. Some early pieces were unmarked or not every piece in a set was stamped.
Excellent antique condition with age related crazing in the glaze. No chips or cracks. There is a missed glaze spot on the back underside edge.
Dimensions: 16.5” x 13 1/8”
