Vintage Modernist Celestial Iron and Brass Armillary Sphere

Vintage 1980's modernist style celestial armillary with concentric rings with a brass center sun and nine patinated bronze finish metal orbital rings resting on tripod base. An armillary sphere is a model consisting of a spherical framework of rings, centered on the Earth or the Sun. The nine rings represent the orbits of the planets (including Pluto) around the sun, which is represented by the brass sphere. The armillary is in very good condition with minor surface wear.
