This is a beautiful pair of Victorian era solid brass candlesticks with both a beehive and faceted diamond shape made in England, circa 1893. This is a highly sought after design by collectors and features a square base with a bell shape atop the base, followed by a beehive design, then a faceted diamond design, and an elongated column candle cup with a bobeche at the top. This design preceded a line of candlesticks referred to as the diamond jubilee series in celebration of Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee in 1897. These are similar in style but have an impressed mark "England RD223580" on the base with this registry mark dating to1893. They have push button ejector rods in the centers accessed from the bottom and are used for pushing spent candles out of the stick. Both push button ejectors are in excellent working condition but one is missing the metal button at the end of the rod. These are in very good condition for their age at 130+ years old.

  • Each measures 9.75" high with a 3.5" base
  • There is some slight age wear as is expected with a tiny dent on the side of the base of one candlestick; it's hard to see but makes this one rock slightly if touched rather than sitting flush on the surface
  • Before and after pics are included to show the transformation of how beautiful these tarnished candlesticks shined up after being cleaned
  • Comps include a fairly wide range from $95-$595+ for pairs depending on size and condition
  • Baldwin Brass company came out with a reproduction of this design in the 1950's
